. the obama administration announced new rules today for contraceptive coverage under the affordable care act. faith-based non-profits, like hospitals and universities, would be allowed to issue health insurance withouproviding coverage for contraceptives. however, employees and students would be able to obtain a separate policy at no cost to the employer. more than 45 federal lawsuits have been filed challenging the contraceptive coverage requirement, claiming the mandate violates religious beliefs. protesters across egypt defied curfews to chant against the rule of egyptian president mohammed morsi. the protests cap a week of political rioting that left up to 60 people dead. and tonight, some of the protests reached the doorstep of the president in cairo. demonstrators hurled objects, includi firebombs, overhe wallf the presidential palace. morsi was not inside. opposition parties called the protests in an attempt to win concessions from the president. in pakistan, a suicide bomber attacked a shiite mosque, killing at least 23 people. the attack happened as worshippers were leaving friday p

with emerson's and which now the obama administration is trying to take a step further. the clinton administration privatized this in the processing, animals are slaughtered and another step where they are cut up and processed so in the reprocessing there has been the privatized system that we have done a lot of work showing how dangerous it is. the obama administration wants to increase this program especially for poultry. it would mean more than 200 birds a minute are being slaughtered in a plant. that is not a misstatement. 200 birds a minute. there is no way there can be any inspection of these carcasses and these are immigrant workers, extremely dangerous work. imagine both hands get sliced. all sorts of horrible injuries and because of all the contamination from salmonella you can never eat another piece of chicken. they get the chicken into chemicals, things like corn and sodium phosphate. that really over originated with the corn -- the clinton administration. a lengthy answer. i don't know how much time we have. >> what is the mandate of the usda? where did go wrong and wha

. one of the questions people often ask about the first year of the obama administration. why did you take on health care at the same time we're having all these other issues? the reason was health care is not just a huge moral, social issue also an economic issue. we have to deal with that is something that can be helpful for the economy going forward. if you ask, what is the positive on health care? how is the economy doing? what is the snerkt the economy that is adding jobs? it is the health care sector of the economy. i think it is -- that's partly because it is a dynamic sector coming up with incredible innovations, the amount of exciting discoveries that are looming on the horizon are bigger in health care than other parts of the economy. that's the positive. the hard side is it is a complicated side. the reason why we don't leave health care to the private sector because it is complicated. we don't look at someone on the street and say sorry you don't have insurance so too bad for you. we as society is going to take care of that person. that is what puts the government in this
